Compass Point Systems is a forest information company. We specialize in training and use of technology to manage forest resources.  Need to know how your forest has changed due to a fire or pine beetle outbreak? Using Feature Analyst we measure forest cover from satellite or aerial photos - the exact area by average canopy sizes. Perhaps you need the area in streamside management areas, using a Geographic Information System will give this information much quicker than ground surveys.
 
"Nothing new under the sun?" This beech was discovered growing in Central Louisiana by a Compass Point System's forester. It has bark similar to that of an oak tree. Recently another has been located in Mississippi. Compass Point Systems always has an eye out for new ideas.
